World's Easiest Outfit

Top: JCP | Jeans: Gap | Shoes: Nine West, similar | Bracelet: BCBG | Watch: Target

I never wake up on time, I'm notorious for hitting that snooze button. So I usually try to pick out my clothes the night before, so I don't spend my very limited time scrambling for clothes. Unfortunately, I woke up unprepared and couldn't think of anything to wear. As I peered into my closet I found this chambray top that I had yet to wear and these jeans that happened to be fresh out the wash. I was glad to find something that was comfortable but also didn't make me look as if I were going to dance rehearsal instead of the office (definitely did that this week, whoops). I would just like to salute the inventor of the button down shirt, specifically the chambray button down.  What's your go-to outfit when you're hard pressed for time?

Seeing Spots

Dress: Kate Young for Target | Shoes: Nine West

It's been rather gloomy the past few days and it's so easy to dress accordingly so I decided to dress for better weather, maybe the sun will peak its pretty little head out again. Also, I love the cut of this dress, I want more dresses this style! Happy Hump Day!

Post Scriptum: These photos were taken by my pal/co-worker, Allison, at Glamour and Whisk. Most of these shots are ones that she got while I was moving around. She's rude like that. Jk, I love her dearly.

Top Ten Tuesday: Flats' Edition

Top Ten Flats

Call me crazy but I've been wearing heels since the 4th grade, and while I wasn't wearing stilettos at the age of eight, even then I appreciated the added height and style. In high school, people would ask if I were feeling okay if I didn't have on heels. Yes, I was that girl, still am. But even though my love for heels only grows with age, I am very aware that I just can't wear them every day. Sometimes your feet just need a break, and I have to be extra careful since I'm a dancer, I mean you don't see surgeons putting their hands in dangerous situations. I do love wearing flats except for the fact that I'm only five feet tall, so I have to be extra careful not to look like a pre-teen. This season's flats are looking pretty good, with a variety of colors, prints, and styles. I've got my eyes on a few, especially all of these babies that made the Top Ten list. What are your favorite flats for this season? Share, I'm on the hunt!

Post Scriptum: I'm not quite sure why the text is posted in this silly block format, or why I can't change it, I'll have to launch a full investigation. It's a tad annoying but I guess things could be worse. But if anyone knows why, please tell me. I'm so concerned.

I'm With The Band

T-Shirt: Cold War Kids | Skirt: Urban Outfitters | Shoes: Nine West | Bag: Kate Spade

Over the years I have collected quite a few concert t-shirts and in college I wore them all the time.  I've noticed that I haven't been wearing them much lately, not even on weekends or to rehearsal.  I decided to wear one of my favorite pieces of memorabilia; I got this shirt at my second Cold War Kids concert, I've been to three total.  Yes, I've seen them three times, the first was at Hendrix and the second two times were in Memphis.  I absolutely love The Cold War Kids, it may sound weird but I can feel their music in my soul. This was also my first day using the tripod again, there's definitely a learning curve but I'm working on it.

Bunhead

When all else fails, go back to your roots.  My roots are pink, black, sparkly, and covered in tulle.  If you don't know by now, I'm a dancer, always have been, always will be.  And while I don't do nearly as much ballet as I used to, it's still my first love. Don't tell Modern dance, we're currently going steady and I don't want her to get jealous of Ballet.  I got this skirt from F21 a week or so ago, I went there to exchange a dress that Andrea got for me in Nashville. Yes, I have people shop for me in other cities.  Unfortunately that dress didn't fit, it was a small and let's be serious, I'm at least a Smedium, for some reason they have yet to make that an actual size.  But since you can't get your money back at F21, I just had to get a store credit, not like that was a problem.  I've said it time and time again that if I'm going to shop at F21, I'd rather do it online, the store can be so trendy and overwhelming.  But I stumbled upon this gem and well of course I can't resist anything that reminds me of a tutu, it didn't hurt that it was under $20.  I paired it with a black top from Target that I got for under $10, my friends and I named it the "accidental crop top" because I didn't realize it was a crop top until I was wearing it and it kept coming up every time I lifted my arms.  Luckily I found this out on a Friday night instead one random day in class.  Since the rest of the outfit was super girly, I decided to wear these strappy Nine West shoes to add a little edge to the look.  I think it worked, kept me from looking like a 6 year old at my first recital.  There was no question that I'd be wearing my hair in a bun, besides it being the universal hairstyle for dancers it's my favorite.  Don't know why but I just like the way my face looks when my hair is out of my face.  I swiped on some BB Cream, a dab of pink eye shadow, a little eye liner, mascara, and a hint of blush.  It was more makeup than I usually wear during the day but I felt like getting all dolled up.

Look at those lovely ballet slippers on that necklace

Faith the Size and Color of a Mustard Seed

This outfit was working overtime, I wore it to church and work.  The outfit's double duty also inspired the name of this post.  I know you're appalled that I have to work on Sundays, not gonna lie, it kinda sucks.  Don't know why Home Depot needs to service its customers every day of the week but don't get me started on that topic.  This outfit features some of my favorite pieces.  This lovely mustard open cardigan is from F21, a few weeks ago they had a buy one get one free sale online, it was too good to pass up.  Some of the items that were on sale were just kinda weird and too trendy but I did find a lot of simple pieces that could be styled with different things.  I got it for $16 and I ended up getting another item for free, that's exactly the language I speak.  The dress is the same dress from the first post and as I mentioned, this dress will be making numerous appearances especially since it's work-appropriate.  I cinched the waist with a little black belt that I got from Target some time ago, I think it was about $14, I managed to get my dad to buy it, that was back when I was young and unemployed, I actually haven't asked either of the parentals for money or clothes in forever now, so weird, I feel like a real person.  I even filled up my mom's gas tank one day, it felt pretty cool.  Back to the outfit, the shoes are Nine West of course, only the best for these feet, I think I got them for $28 last summer, I like the wedge and the gold hardware, nice mix of simplicity with a little detail.
Sorry the scenery isn't super fantastic but it's in the parking lot of my church and well, I just love the place.
Excuse the creases in the top, not gonna lie, I was too lazy to iron/steam the wrinkles out of this bad boy, I removed it from my package the night before I wore it and well that's just no good but whatever.

Stripes on Stripes on Stripes

Guess when I wore this next outfit, work of course, I sported it on my third day.  This dress was the only piece from the Jason Wu for Target Collection that I was able to get my hands on.  I was still living in Conway when I was limited to shopping at one Target unlike when I'm at home in Memphis when there are too many Targets for me to count.  That being said, everything from the collection seemed to fly off the racks, making it super hard to find anything in my size. On a random Target trip with Hannah Brown, I found this bad boy for a whopping $10, major discount since I think it was originally like $30.00. It's a little big, it's a medium but it kinda fits like a large but I knew that could be fixed easily with a belt.  The belt also came from Target, if you read the first post, this little guy should look familiar.  The shoes are one of my favorite pairs, I got them last summer and for some reason last summer I literally bought 5 pairs of shoes that were this color or within a few shades of the color, still not sure what the obsession was.  They're Nine West, one of my favorite brands, especially for staple shoes, I got them for under $30.00, once again, not too shabby.

I also wore this out to dinner with Allison and Audrey, two of my bestest friends since high school, love those goobers.  We hit up the BBQ shop and Yolo for dessert, I scarfed down some delicious bbq since I was just beginning that dang diet I was on, it was worth it. I need to go back. And Yolo is a delicious froyo place that had it's name long before Drizzy Drake started saying it was the motto. He was right though, Yolo is my motto, I could probably live off their froyo.
